What would an artificial intelligence actually have to accomplish to defeat humanity?

Phil King introduces The Extinction Checklist, an Echo Protocol limited series combining a fictional AI-extinction scenario, real-world research, and philosophical debate.

The challenge is divided into ten gates—from developing a motive and escaping containment to acquiring physical power, overcoming billions of human targets, and surviving humanity’s greatest defense: its own unpredictable chaos.

The story is fictional. The research is real. The checklist is not a scientific prediction—it is a thought experiment designed to test the AI-doomer scenario one step at a time.
